Fire at Algerian orphanage kills 11 people, including children

A fire occurred at an orphanage near the Algerian capital on Thursday, killing 11 people, including children and injuring 19 others, authorities said. The state-run institution operates as a residential care centre for orphans, abandoned minors, and children with special needs, providing them with shelter, medical care, and social support. Seven people were treated for severe psychological shock.
