American media personality and businesswoman Kim Kardashian claimed that the "incarcerated" firefighters battling the Los Angeles wildfires in the US are paid $1 (₹86) per hour. "This pay has been the same since 1984," she added. "This year there was an agreement to raise the incarcerated firefighter pay to $5/hour, but it got shot down last minute," Kim further stated.
