The first battle of Panipat was fought between Babur's forces and the Lodi Empire on April 21, 1526. The battle marked the end of Lodhi dynasty and the establishment of Mughal empire as Babur came out as victorious in the fight. This was reportedly one of the earliest battles wherein gunpowder firearms and field artillery were used.
