First made-in-India high-speed train to run at 250 kmph

India’s first 100% indigenously built high-speed train, capable of 250 kmph, is under development by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai and BEML in Bengaluru for the Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor. Built on the Vande Bharat platform, the train will feature stainless steel bodies, standard-gauge tracks and Kavach 5.0 safety systems. The prototypes are targeting an operational speed of 220 kmph.
