First metro pier comes up inside Bengaluru airport campus

The first metro pier inside premises of Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport was cast on Saturday. The 15-km-long route from Yelahanka to the Airport terminal station will have a total of 67 piers. Casting of the first pier, which has a height of 8 metres and a diameter running to 1.6 metres, was completed within three hours, officials said.
