First proof trial of PINAKA extended range rockets conducted at Pokhran

India's Solar Group conducted the maiden proof trial of PINAKA Extended Range Rockets at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district. A total of 24 rockets were flight tested for their accuracy, consistency and lethality. The 214-mm calibre rockets have a 75-km range and have proximity and point detonating fuzes, which are responsible for detonating the rocket.
