First shipment of Assam's GI-tagged litchis exported to Dubai

Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority has facilitated first export consignment of Geographical Indication-tagged Tezpur Litchi from Assam to Dubai. The one-metric-tonne consignment was exported on June 7. "This step will give the region's litchi global recognition...and create new opportunities for...products from Northeast India," said Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
