First-ever 'murder hornet' nest in US discovered by scientists

Scientists in Washington have discovered the first nest of 'murder hornets' in the US and plan to wipe it out on Saturday to protect native honeybees, officials said. Workers with the Agriculture Department spent weeks tracking Asian giant hornets, which can deliver painful stings and spit venom. The nest is about a basketball's size and contains an estimated 100-200 hornets.
