Fiscal deficit at ₹11.7 lakh cr in Apr-Jan, 74.5% of FY25 target

India's fiscal deficit stood at ₹11.69 lakh crore in the April-January period of FY25, reaching 74.5% of the full-year target. The figure is higher than the ₹11.02 lakh crore deficit recorded in the year-ago period. The government's total expenditure in the first 10 months of FY25 stood at ₹35.69 lakh crore, of which ₹7.57 lakh crore was on Capital Account.
