Fiscal deficit at ₹2.7 lakh crore as of July, 17.2% of FY25 target

India's fiscal deficit stood at ₹2.77 lakh crore at the end of July, which is 17.2% of the FY25 target, the latest government data showed. The government received ₹10.23 lakh crore in the first four months of FY25, of which ₹7.15 lakh crore was tax revenue. The total expenditure of the government during the period stood at ₹13 lakh crore.
