Flattering the king: Tharoor on Maria giving her Nobel Prize to Trump

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor termed Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado’s decision to present her Nobel Peace Prize medal to US President Donald Trump as "flatter(ing) the king". Tharoor stated that "by giving away her medal, Machado didn't just give away a piece of gold, she confessed her own weakness." Tharoor further called it "a piece of political theatre."
