Flesh-eating parasite found in woman's eye after using contact lenses in Brazil

A flesh-eating parasite has been found in a Brazilian woman's left eye after using contact lenses. "I got Acanthamoeba keratitis and it has been quite a journey," Lilian Melchert said. Acanthamoeba keratitis is a rare but serious infection of the eye that can result in permanent visual impairment or blindness, according to US' Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
