Vir Chakra awardee Flight Lieutenant Alfred Tyrone Cooke faced four Pakistani fighter jets single-handedly during 1965 war. This was when Pakistan attacked Kalaikunda Air Force Station in West Bengal. Cooke shot down one jet, severely damaged two others, and made the fourth abort and flee. "His legendary dogfight...remains a masterclass in aggressive air combat and unwavering resolve," IAF said.
