Flipkart acquires Indian languages translator startup Liv.ai

India's largest e-commerce firm Flipkart has acquired AI startup Liv.ai, which built a platform that translates speech to text in nine Indian languages. Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy said the technology could be used in transactions, customer support, and buyer-seller interaction. The Bengaluru-based startup was founded in 2015 by IIT graduates Subodh Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar and Kishore Mundra.
