Flood-like situation in Kota as rivers surge due to heavy rain, red alert issued

Heavy rainfall has caused a flood-like situation in several districts of Rajasthan including Kota. A red alert was issued by the Central Water Commission for Kota on Tuesday, putting out a warning for "extreme flood situation" in view of the water surge in Parvati river in Khatoli. The water level in other rivers including the Chambal river also surged.
