Florida beaches could have flesh-eating bacteria: Researchers

Researchers have warned of flesh-eating bacteria in the Sargassum seaweed in Florida. This seaweed, known as the 'Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt', spans 5,000 miles. The bacteria can attach to plastic waste tangled in the seaweed, posing health risks to beach visitors and marine creatures. The bacteria can infect people through raw or undercooked seafood, potentially leading to amputation or death.
