FM Sitharaman announces 'infrastructure risk guarantee fund' in Budget 2026

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an 'infrastructure risk guarantee fund' in the Union Budget 2026 to 'provide prudentially calibrated partial credit guarantee to lenders". She said it'll "strengthen the confidence of private developers regarding risks during the infrastructure development." She stated that the capital expenditure will increase to ₹12.2 lakh crore in FY 2026-27.
