Food, other lifesaving aid about to run out in Afghanistan: UN
Afghanistan is facing a collapse of basic services and "food...other lifesaving aid is about to run out", UN humanitarian agency OCHA said. Millions of Afghans are in need of food aid and health assistance, OCHA spokesperson Jens Laerke said. The agency has appealed for about $600 million to meet humanitarian needs for 11 million Afghans for remainder of the year.
