Food safety officials flag khoya, paneer adulteration ahead of Diwali

Food safety officials are scrutinising khoya supplies from Alwar and Saharanpur, and paneer from Haryana's Nuh district, ahead of Diwali. Concerns include adulteration with vegetable fats, starch, bleaching agents and unauthorised colours. In September, 7,600kg of suspected adulterated paneer was seized in Nuh. Selling unsafe food can attract fines up to ₹5 lakh or imprisonment.
