Footballer dies after being hit by lightning during match in Thailand, incident caught on camera

Thai footballer Sofwan Awae died after being struck by lightning during a Golok Cup match at Santiphap Stadium in southern Thailand on Tuesday. The 24-year-old winger, who had recently signed for third-tier club Yala FC, was playing for SAMCOLTS when lightning hit the pitch. Twelve others, including a Malaysian footballer, were injured and taken to hospital for treatment, police said.
