Footballer Owori, captain of one of Uganda's biggest clubs, beaten to death

Ugandan footballer David Owori, captain of one of the country's biggest clubs, SC Villa, has died after being assaulted in the capital, Kampala, police said. Owori, who was 28, was critically injured by unidentified assailants in a suburb on Tuesday and was found unconscious by passers-by, police added. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
