T20 World Cup 2026 will be the first edition of T20 World Cup to be played without former India captain Rohit Sharma and former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan. Rohit and Shakib featured in all previous nine editions of the competition. Rohit retired from T20I cricket after T20 World Cup 2024, while Shakib hasn't played international cricket since 2024.
