Ford Motor has dropped plans to make electric vehicles (EVs) in India for exports. "After careful review, we have decided to no longer pursue EV manufacturing for exports from any of the Indian plants," a spokesperson said. In September 2021, Ford had announced it would cease local manufacturing in India, citing an operating loss of $2 billion over 10 years.
