Ford facing criminal probe over emissions, unrelated to dieselgate

Ford revealed it is facing a criminal investigation by US authorities over its emissions certification process, after inconsistencies in emission test results were prompted by its staff. The automaker said the probe is unrelated to use of "defeat devices", which Volkswagen had used under its infamous 'Dieselgate' scandal to cheat investors. Ford said it's fully cooperating with the authorities.
