Ford rehires ex-engineers to fix mistakes made by AI

Ford executives said the company had hired, promoted, or brought back about 350 experienced technical specialists as overreliance on AI and automated systems contributed to quality issues in its vehicles. AI is not enough to produce a high-quality product, the executives admitted. The veteran engineers are now helping resolve quality problems and improve the training and deployment of AI systems.
