Ford shuts plant in Chennai till Jan 24 amid global chip shortage

Ford India has shut its plant in Tamil Nadu's Chennai till January 24 amid a global semiconductor (chip) shortage. The company said that the shortage has disrupted part supplies from its vendors. The automaker, which also has a plant in Gujarat, expects the issue affecting the sector to continue for at least the first half of 2021.
