Foreign trips may get costlier as govt considers tax amid Middle East war: Report

The Centre is considering imposing a temporary tax, surcharge or cess on foreign travel amid the global energy crisis caused by the Middle East war, CNBC-TV18 reported, citing sources. The discussions are reportedly underway at the "highest levels", however, no final decision has been taken yet. Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had urged citizens to avoid foreign travel for a year.
