Former Australia cricketer Damien Martyn battling meningitis, placed in induced coma

Former Australia batter Damien Martyn has been placed in induced coma at a Brisbane hospital after being diagnosed with meningitis. According to reports, he fell ill after lying down to rest on Boxing Day and was transported to hospital from his Gold Coast home. "Let’s hope he can pull through...because it's really serious," ex-Australian rules football star Brad Hardie said.
