Former French President Jacques Chirac passes away at 86

Former French President Jacques Chirac passed away aged 86, his family said on Thursday. He served as President for two terms spanning 12 years between 1995-2007 and had twice served as the Prime Minister of the country. One of Chirac's political reforms was to cut the presidential term of office from 7 years to 5 years.
