Former MP & aide to ex-Ukrainian President shot dead in Spain

Former Ukrainian MP Andriy Portnov, who worked as an aide to pro-Russian former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, was shot dead outside a school near Spain's Madrid on Wednesday. Reports suggest that Portnov fled to Russia in 2014 and faced investigations in Ukraine over accusations of treason and embezzlement. He had been placed on sanctions lists by EU, US and Canada.
