FPIs withdraw ₹43,000 cr in June's 1st week amid weakening rupee

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) withdrew nearly ₹43,000 crore from Indian equities in the first week of June, taking their total outflows in 2026 to around ₹2.67 lakh crore. The selling comes amid continued rupee falling about 6% this year and touching 95.5 against the US dollar. Market experts also attributed the outflows to investors shifting funds toward global AI opportunities.
