Fr. Benoy Joseph’s grassroots work transforms Garo Hills

Fr. Benoy Joseph has strengthened livelihoods in Meghalaya’s Garo Hills through the Muktidata Multipurpose Cooperative Society he founded in 2015. By empowering farmers, women and youth, promoting organic farming and linking produce like pineapples, turmeric and spices to fair markets, his community-led approach has improved incomes and self-reliance across villages.
