France conducts 1st test launch of new nuclear-capable missile
France on Tuesday conducted the first test launch of its latest M51.3 submarine-launched ballistic missile without a nuclear warhead, the Defence Ministry said. The missile was launched off Brittany to test whether the nuclear submarine Le Vigilant could deploy it after undergoing major overhaul. President Emmanuel Macron hailed the launch, saying France was stronger and had sent a clear message.
