France deploys fighter jets amid Turkey-Greece standoff in Mediterranean

France has increased its military presence in the eastern Mediterranean region by deploying two Rafale fighter jets and a naval frigate 'Lafayette' amid a standoff between Greece and Turkey. Greece had claimed that Turkey had violated international laws after it launched oil and gas exploration work in the area. French President Emmanuel Macron urged Turkey to stop its "unilateral" prospecting.
