France held responsible for air pollution in first such ruling

A French court has held the country responsible for failing to limit air pollution in and around Paris, in the first such ruling in France. The ruling came in a case filed by a woman after she and her daughter suffered respiratory ailments due to pollution. There was insufficient evidence to award damages for the ailments, the court said.
