France issues new arrest warrant for ousted Syrian ex-Prez Assad

France has issued a new arrest warrant for ousted Syrian ex-President Bashar al-Assad on charges of complicity in war crimes and crimes against humanity. The warrant was requested by France’s National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office as part of investigation into 2017 death of French citizen in Syria. This is the second such warrant against Assad, who was overthrown in December 2024.
