France orders killing of 2.5 million poultry amid bird flu outbreaks

French farming ministry has said that 2.5 million birds are needed to be killed as a precautionary measure as the southwest of the country is facing several outbreaks of bird flu. Around 1.2 million animals have already been culled, it said. Reportedly, previous bird flu outbreaks in Asia and Europe led to the culling of tens of millions of birds.
