France plans to have Australia-like social media ban for children

France plans to ban children under the age of 15 from social media sites and to prohibit mobile phones in high schools from September 2026, local media reported. President Emmanuel Macron's government will submit draft legislation of the plan for legal checks in early January. The move comes after Australia successfully banned social media for teenagers in December last year.
