France President Macron's wife awarded ₹7 lakh in damages over false claims she is trans

A court has ordered two women to pay €8,000 (over ₹7 lakh) in damages to France President Emmanuel Macron's wife Brigitte for making false claims that she is transgender. The women had posted a YouTube video alleging that Brigitte had once been a man named Jean-Michel. The false claim went viral just weeks before 2022 presidential election.
