France seeks emergency UNSC meet as Israel advances into Lebanon

France has requested an emergency UN Security Council meeting over Israel's military advancements into southern Lebanon, Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said. Describing Israel's military operations in Lebanon as "extremely concerning", he said that nothing can justify it. This comes as Israeli troops captured the medieval Beaufort castle in the deepest incursion into Lebanon in 26 years.
