France to end birthright citizenship in overseas territory Mayotte

In a bid to curb immigration, France is set to end birthright citizenship in its overseas territory Mayotte. "It will no longer be possible to become French if one is not the child of French parents," Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin told reporters after arriving on the island. Mayotte is located off the East African coast, near Madagascar.
