Frank Drake, who led search for life on other planets, dies aged 92

Frank Drake, the American radio astronomer, who led the search for life on other planets, died aged 92 on September 2 at his home in California. Founder of Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI), Drake also developed Drake Equation, used to estimate the number of advanced civilizations in the galaxy. He was the former dean of science at University of California.
