Free Movement Regime between India and Myanmar scrapped

Home Minister Amit Shah announced the government has scrapped Free Movement Regime between India and Myanmar. Free Movement Regime allowed people from either nation to enter up to 16 km without travel documents. The decision has been taken to ensure the internal security of India and to maintain demographic structure of India’s North-Eastern States bordering Myanmar, Shah said.
