Freshworks to fire 11% staff in India & US, CEO says 'AI writing half our code'

Freshworks, a SaaS company founded by Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy, will be firing 11% of its workforce, or 500 employees, in India and US. "Over half of our code is written by AI...Over half of large deals now include AI," CEO Dennis Woodside said, blaming AI for layoffs. Employees are being fired despite the company "performing well", he added.
