From 18 survivors, rare ferrets make a comeback in US park
Once declared extinct in the wild, black-footed ferrets are making a remarkable comeback at the US' Badlands National Park. From just 18 survivors in 1987, conservation efforts have helped rebuild their population. Around 120 now live in the park, but the endangered species still faces threats from disease, habitat loss and declining prairie dog populations.
