From Guatemala to Venezuela: US interventions in Latin America

After the reported US operation in Venezuela, attention has returned to Washington's long record of interventions in Latin America. Since the Cold War, the US has backed coups, supported dictatorships, and launched military actions in countries including Guatemala, Cuba, Chile, Nicaragua, Panama, and Grenada, often citing anti-communism while leaving thousands dead or disappeared.
