Fimbristylis wayanadensis is the latest discovery in Indian flora found in the Thollayiram forest. Found in the high elevations of Wayanad, this sedge is defined by its chestnut spikelets and lack of warty nuts. This new species thrives where rocks meet grasslands. Found near the famous Chembra Peak, this plant survives in high-altitude zones.
