Frozen water found outside Solar System by James Webb Telescope

Astronomers using the James Webb Telescope discovered water ice in a massive protoplanetary disk around star 114-426 in the Orion Nebula. The ice was found coating dust grains within the disk, which spans over 1,000 times the Earth-Sun distance. Researchers detected this frozen water at a 3µm wavelength. The findings could reveal insights into planet and water formation.
