FSSAI proposes red warning labels on high-fat, sugar, salt foods

FSSAI has proposed front-of-pack warning labels for packaged foods high in salt, sugar or fat. Foods exceeding the limit for even one nutrient would carry a red hexagon warning. The regulator plans a single-phase rollout and said the framework will undergo public and industry consultation before the final rules are issued.
