FSSAI warns food businesses against using rusted & unclean knives, issues order
The FSSAI said that certain food businesses are using rusted, corroded, chipped, painted, damaged or unclean knives, blades and other cutting equipment in food operations. "[This] may result in physical, chemical and microbiological contamination of food," it said. The body ordered businesses to use only food-grade, corrosion-resistant and hygienic tools and warned of action over non-compliance.
